Programme Learning Outcomes (PLO)

The learning outcomes of the Doctoral Program in Legal Science, Faculty of Law, UNISSULA cover attitude, knowledge, general skills, and specific skills, formulated in the following seven outcomes.

    Mastery of the philosophy of legal science from an Islamic perspective, of the most recent and advanced developments in legal scholarship, and of the application of relevant theories from other disciplines.

  • PLO 2PL 1PL 2PL 3PL 4

    The ability to construct legal arguments and solutions based on a critical view of facts, concepts, principles, or theories that can be accounted for scientifically and ethically, and to communicate them through mass media or directly to the community.

  • PLO 3PL 1PL 2PL 3

    The ability to select research that is relevant, current, and beneficial to humanity through inter-, multi-, or transdisciplinary approaches, in order to develop and produce solutions to contemporary legal or societal problems, based on an assessment of the availability of internal and external resources.

  • PLO 4PL 1PL 2PL 3

    Mastery of normative and/or sociological legal research methods, or quantitative methods, with inter-, multi-, and transdisciplinary approaches, in order to build new theories, concepts, or ideas in the field of law in the form of a dissertation published in a reputable international journal.

  • PLO 5PL 1PL 2PL 3PL 4

    The ability to conduct legal research with inter-, multi-, or transdisciplinary approaches — independently, collaboratively, and sustainably — producing a legal research roadmap within the framework of rahmatan lil alamin, and to earn national and/or international recognition through papers published in reputable journals.

    The ability to discover or develop new theories, conceptions, or scholarly ideas that contribute significantly to the development of legal science and to the resolution of complex legal problems through original, innovative, and impactful research, integrating scientific methodology, digital technology, artificial intelligence, and legal analytics with logical, critical, systematic, and creative thinking grounded in Islamic values, legal values, local wisdom, academic ethics, and scholarly integrity, in order to renew legal science and build a just national legal system that is adaptive to digital transformation, sustainable, and blessed by Allah SWT.

  • PLO 7PL 1PL 2PL 3PL 4

    The ability to demonstrate academic leadership in leading, managing, and developing legal science and in reconstructing scholarship on the basis of Islamic values through meta-analysis, synthesis, and critical evaluation, integrating digital competence to produce and disseminate original, innovative, and tested theories, concepts, ideas, or empirical findings through scholarly forums or reputable national and international journals, while developing the human resources, collaborative networks, and academic organisations under their responsibility professionally, faithfully, adaptively, with integrity, and with a commitment to continuing professional development oriented towards the common good.
