UNISSULA Faculty of Law Holds Public Lecture to Welcome New Students, Highlights Supreme Court–Judicial Commission Synergy

Semarang — The Faculty of Law of Sultan Agung Islamic University (UNISSULA) held a public lecture as part of its series of activities welcoming new students for the 2026/2027 academic year. The event took place on Saturday, 12 September 2026, at the UNISSULA campus in Semarang.

The public lecture was themed "Institutional Synergy between the Supreme Court and the Judicial Commission Toward Accountable Justice," with the subtheme "Living Norms (LN): The Convergence of Living Law (LW) in Building Just Law."
The Dean of the UNISSULA Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. H. Jawade Hafidz, S.H., M.H., opened the event and delivered remarks to the new students, emphasizing the importance of integrity and legal knowledge for future law enforcers.
The lecture featured three speakers. The first, Chairman of the Judicial Commission of the Republic of Indonesia Prof. KPA Dr. H. Abdul Chair Ramadhan, S.H., M.H., discussed the Judicial Commission's role in upholding judicial honor and accountability. The second, Supreme Court Justice of the Republic of Indonesia Prof. Dr. Yeheskiel Minggus Tiranda, S.H., M.H., addressed the dynamics of law enforcement and judicial independence in Indonesia. The third, Chairman of the Indonesian Paralegal Development Center (PPRAGALINDO) Prof. Dr. Ade Saptomo, S.H., M.Si., examined the application of living norms and living law in building law within modern society.
The event served as an initial briefing for new students of the UNISSULA Faculty of Law — introducing them not only to campus academic life, but also offering direct legal insight from national legal experts and practitioners.
