UNISSULA's LICS 2026 Strengthens International Legal Collaboration on the Protection of Women and Children

Semarang – The Doctoral Program in Law (PDIH) at UNISSULA's Faculty of Law held the 9th Legal International Conference & Studies (LICS 2026) and Call for Papers-Proceedings from July 25 to August 1, 2026, under the theme "Combating Human Trafficking & Enhancing Protection of Women and Children." The activity served as an international academic forum to strengthen legal studies, improve the protection of women and children, and encourage cross-country cooperation in addressing human trafficking. The series of activities began with a paper finalization stage on July 25, 2026, followed by the main conference on July 30, 2026 at the UNISSULA Auditorium and a paper presentation session on July 31, 2026 at UNISSULA's International Unit Program (IUP). The agenda included keynote speeches, panel discussions, paper presentations, comparative legal analysis, case-based dialogue, and academic networking sessions. LICS 2026 brought together participants from academia, researchers, postgraduate students, legal practitioners, policymakers, and international delegations from various countries. A number of special guests and speakers were also present, including Prof. Dr. Yusril Ihza Mahendra, S.H., M.Sc., Police Lieutenant General Prof. Dr. Dedi Prasetyo, S.H., M.Hum., M.Si., M.M., and Prof. Junimart Girsang, together with academics from Japan, Australia, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Morocco, Spain, and the Maldives. The presence of these figures created a dynamic academic atmosphere through the exchange of ideas and international legal perspectives. Through the LICS 2026 series, PDIH UNISSULA aims to produce innovative legal and policy recommendations, strengthen international academic networks, and develop research collaboration and publications through proceedings. This activity is expected to be a concrete step in strengthening UNISSULA's role as a center for the development of international legal studies while encouraging joint efforts to achieve stronger protection for women and children.
