PDIH UNISSULA Field Study Trip to Japan Strengthens Comparative Legal Studies

Japan, April 19–26, 2026 – The Doctoral Program in Law (PDIH) at UNISSULA carried out a Field Study Trip (KKL) to Japan under the theme "Comparative Legal Studies: Exploring Japanese and Indonesian Legal Systems." The activity was part of strengthening students' international perspectives through direct learning about the Japanese legal system and its comparison with the Indonesian legal system. The field study trip was held over April 19–26, 2026, and prioritized academic activities, visits, and observations to gain an understanding of legal practices and developments in Japan. Through a comparative study approach, participants were guided to identify the similarities, differences, and characteristics of each legal system. The activity took place in a dynamic academic atmosphere and gave PDIH students direct experience in understanding the legal and social environment in Japan. In addition to broadening their scholarly perspectives, the activity also served as a means of building international academic interaction and relationships. Through this field study trip, students are expected to enrich their perspectives in conducting comparative legal studies and develop legal thinking that is more open to international practices. The activity is also expected to strengthen PDIH UNISSULA's internationalization and open up broader academic cooperation opportunities between Indonesia and Japan.
